BFRA becomes CCPI supporter
We’re pleased to announce we have become a supporter of the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI), reinforcing our commitment to raising standards across the roofing and wider construction industry.
Chair of the BFRA, Shaun Lotay, said that as the trade association representing the reinforced bitumen membrane (RBM) industry, supporting the CCPI is “…simply the right thing to do.”
The CCPI was established in response to the lessons learned following the Grenfell Tower tragedy and aims to improve the quality, accuracy and transparency of construction product information.
Shaun Lotay, Chair of the BFRA, said becoming a CCPI supporter reflects some of the BFRA’s core values of integrity and responsibility.
He said: “It demonstrates our commitment to accountability and improving responsible communication throughout the sector. By supporting the CCPI, BFRA also aims to work more closely with other trade associations and industry bodies to encourage greater consistency in how construction products are described and promoted.”
The importance of CCPI across construction
Many construction products do not fall within harmonised or designated standards, making clear, evidence-based product information even more important. At the BFRA, we believe manufacturers and the wider supply chain should be able to demonstrate that claims about products, systems and technologies are accurate, substantiated and communicated responsibly.
Through collaboration and shared best practice, we aim to help build greater confidence in construction products and support a culture of transparency across the industry.
Becoming a CCPI Supporter is another step in BFRA’s commitment to helping raise standards, improve trust and support a safer, more responsible construction industry.
